Update on Masie

Masie went from THIS: To THIS:
Masie has had a rough few weeks but she is doing amazingly well now. She was wearing sunglasses to protect her eyes from the sun but the last few days she hasn't needed them. Her eyes are still slightly red but slowly disappearing. She is very happy with the results. Her eyes were not completely fixed during the surgery though, they are slightly under corrected which is better than over corrected but not perfect. She has an appointment in 3 weeks and we will get some more information, hopefully she will get her new prescription too so she can get her new glasses she desperately needs.

Marshmallow, Ice-Tea, Orange Soda or Apple Pie

These were the names that have been floating around for the past week, in the end they decided on... Drum Roll Please ***Marshmallow***. Sad news first, Taylor's frog Sarah died the beginning of last week, we are not sure why but unfortunately it happened. Taylor was distraught, I have never seen her cry with such hurt before, "But I'm her Mummy" she cried. We just held her and said she was in frog heaven and looking down at the best Mummy in the world, she cheered up as we spoke about all the things she would be doing up there. A few days later we decided to get the girls the perfect pet, A Lion Head Bunny. Unlike regular bunny's, these love to be held and have sweet personalities. You can train them to go in a litter box and they can run around the house and find their cage to go "potty". They are mini bunny's and only get a maximum of 3.5lbs. Marshmallow is only 7 weeks old, and was raised by a lovely breeder who handled him everyday. The girls adore him and have Mothered him all day. (We picked him up today).

I Don't Like You!!!!!!!

Or Daddy, in fact I don't like any of my family!!!!

These are the hurtful words that came out of my Kindergartners mouth just an hour ago. I thought it would be years before any of my children said this to me and honestly it broke my heart to hear her talking like that. Taylor and I were sitting up the table doing her homework and already she HATES doing homework. I told her the same thing I told Masie, if you want me to sit here and help you read the problems and assist you then you have to be willing to do it with NO whining or complaining or you are on your own. This has been working really until tonight, it went like this:

Me: Taylor, copy this word and write it here
Taylor: I'm tired I don't want to do anymore
Me: That's fine, "Chris, Please email Taylor's teacher and let her know she wont be handing in her homework tomorrow"
Taylor: No, No (and starts to scream and cry) I don't like you, or Daddy, in fact I don't like any of my family.
Me: (shocked that she went from 0-100 in seconds) That's fine, go to your room
Taylor: (Screams even louder) AHHH I really don't like this family.
Me: (properly not my best move but) I take her hand and put her on the front door step to cool off.
Taylor: Thinks its brilliant out there
Me: Damn kid called my bluff (she hates being removed from a situation) Taylor come inside and speak to me.

We had a chat and I explained to her that she should not have acted that way and her attitude towards school work has to change. She said she was sorry and we hugged, then she finished her homework and went to bed.

Funny thing is she only had to write 3 words and it took about 30 minutes. I hope we have overcome a hurdle, nobody likes homework but its something you have to do so you may as well do it properly and be done with it.

In her defence, these little children came from a few mornings a week at preschool to full day Kindergarten and homework. She is exhausted and not handling the change very well, I'm sure she will get there, just having a rough time at the moment.

Masie's Eye Surgery

Masie went in for eye surgery last Wednesday to correct her lazy eye, she was a little nervous but excited to finally get it fixed. She hates looking in the mirror without glasses on because her eye goes in, she always comments on it. The doctor needed to adjust the left eye slightly too so it was done at the same time. We got there at 7.40am and she was called in shortly after that, she was given a bed and we watched SpongeBob for about an hour and a half, then she was called in. She was her normal happy, silly self, they came to get her and she was laughing with them about how they were going to get her asleep. We waited another hour and a half and then I was called into the recovery room, she was very upset. The nurses were nice but need to keep their opinions to them self, the one thing that bugs me the most is when somebody tell you something that is just a guest. The nurse told me she wasn't in pain even though she was screaming in agony and holding her face. I asked her if she was on pain medication and she said no but kids just wake up scared. Masie screamed " My eyes are on fire!!!!!!" The nurse looked a little annoyed and carried on with her work. My child had somebody cut through the side or her head and they were pulling around with her eye muscles, surly she is going to be a little uncomfortable. (Vent over) We were released in 45 minutes and we took her home where she slept most of the day and night.
When she woke she was still crying blood, but this is normal. She couldn't open her eyes for more than a second and she was very worried. After a day she could open them but not for long and not without them being sensitive to the light. She now has sunglasses to help her and it is working, she now only wears them outside in the bright light. She went back to school today and is on the mend. She has an appointment on Friday and we will find out how the surgery went (her eyes are still swollen so its hard to tell).
Hopefully soon I can show you before and after pictures!!

Fishing

We had the most fun day today, We found a tiny little fishing lake just outside Cloudcroft. We rented the poles and bought the bate and then we were all set. This was mine and the girls very first fishing trip and it was so much fun!! I thought the girls may have got a little bored but it was quite the opposite, they were wild and to be honest they didn't have time to get bored because they were catching fish left right and center. We totaled at 8 fish but 3 got away just as we lifted them out of the water, which turned out to be a good thing as you had to pay for each fish you caught as was not allowed to throw them back.Hailey trying to kiss her fish, so gross! Check it out!! That fish is HUGE, good job Masie.
Taylor caught the most fish, she was so excited but didn't particularly like going near the fish, and touching one....Not a chance:)

We stopped off in the town and went to mine and my Mum's favourite little sweet shop, they sell fresh home made chocolates and they are AMAZING. Yummy yummy yummy in my tummy!! We enjoyed our chocolates and then headed home.

Taylor and Masie were so excited the other day and came in shouting me to come outside, I run outside and Masie wasn't following, seconds later she comes out with my camera. That girl knows me too well, It held still long enough for me to get a few shots, we actually saw it a few times that day.

It Went Like This

Masie had a great first day, like always she doesn't give me much information and what I got from her was: Her teacher is nice, I have lots of friends, we ate lunch and a girl got sent to the Principles office for throwing her desk at someone. She didn't want to come home as she was enjoying her day so much, I'm sure this will change when the real work starts coming in.
Taylor came home FULL of energy and excitement, she wasn't tired at all. She began to tell me EVERY detail of her day that she could remember. She had three recesses 2 little ones and the big one!! She played with her friend Cathrine from next door, she is in the other Kindergarten class. She enjoyed her lunch and said it was fun in the cafeteria. She worked hard and went into the music room, she read a story called the kissing hand and did a craft about it. Everyone was good apart from one person who moved their clip to Orange. Overall a Great First Day!! You know about Hailey so I want repeat but she loved telling her sisters about her day, even hitting the teacher. Today was a little better she went in upset but calmed down in 30 minutes and ate breakfast, she was very happy again when I walked in the door. Mason missed her and gave her a big hug.

First Day of School

OUCH!! That hurt my heart!!

So the first day of school finally arrived, the girls were really excited. We saw the lists on Friday and they were happy to see people they knew in their classes. Masie's Teacher is Mrs Miller and Taylor's is Mrs Tade and we are very happy with that.

My Gorgeous School GirlsTaylor the Kindergartner Taylor was a little nervous this morning, she says she wasn't but she was very quiet and hardly ate her breakfast. She looked so cute all ready for school. We walked into her class and there were already most of her class mates there. Mrs Tade greeted her with a huge smile, Taylor shyly gave her the picture she had drawn and an apple. She hung her backpack up, put her water bottle and lunch box it the correct place and took her seat. My eyes teared up a little at this point, she looked so small and nervous. I know she is going to do great though, she is so ready. I miss her so much, its so strange here without her.

Masie the Second Grader

Masie was so excited to get back to school, she too was a little nervous but she was more excited than anything. She took her seat where Mrs Miller had set out an activity to get to know them a little better. She had all her things with her and waited for instructions for the morning routine. She is going to do great in second grade!! I miss her so much, its weird after a long summer together.

Hailey the Pre-schoolerHailey has been excited about her new school for a few weeks now, we talk a lot about the new things she will be doing and all the great people she will meet. As you know she has had a real rough time settling into a school and has separation anxiety. Well she went in excited and then got really frightened and started to cry, I spoke to the teacher and told her to call me WHEN she doesn't calm down. Mrs Carr assured me she would be fine (I was thinking, yeah right you haven't met Hailey before). I waited at home for the call and it never came, I came and picked her up at normal time and the second I step into the school I hear Hailey giggling and talking up a storm. I could not believe it, her teacher said she was fantastic!! She cried through breakfast and then was fine all morning long. I am so proud of her!! I missed her so much but knew this is going to be wonderful for her.
Mummy and Daddy are so proud of you girls, we love you SO much and can not wait to see what this next school year brings for our precious Angels!!!

Photo Shoot- Levi

I was messing around with my camera today, I was so happy with some of the pictures. This is Levi being a big boy sitting by himself and looking extra cute. (6 Months Old)

Happy 7th Birthday Masie

Masie had the best birthday, she told me several times that she was really happy. She said she wanted to be the queen for the day, which she pretty much was. As you know Eddie was allowed to her birthday and she was ecstatic, she handled her time with him perfectly and respected the rules that Santa had stated. She received so many birthday cards, presents and lovely birthday wishes, thank you all very much. She was lucky to have her best friend Faith at her birthday as she is one of our daycare kiddies, isn't this a really cute picture of all the gifts Faith gave her? Thank you sweetheart.
We went to the Zoo and had a wonderful time, she had birthday money and bought this cute Tiger pillow that she wants every time we go there.
After leaving Eddie alone for just two minutes with his birthday treats! He made everyone laugh so hard, Silly little Elf.
We went to the park with Mc Donald's as her chosen meal, it was still very hot outside but they didn't seem to mind, Chris and I lasted about 10 minutes and then sat and watched them in the air conditioned car.
She said this was her favourite present, its a camcorder that takes video and pictures. I have downloaded her Sim card twice in the last two days, turns out she is just like her Mummy.
