Just One Wish

Dear Masie

I have been watching you this past year and I'm so proud of you, you have been through so much and handled it really well. You are such a wonderful little girl, I wish more children could be like you. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I have been on vacation with Mrs Claus. I thought hard about this one as I never usually let this happen, but I have decided that this one time I will just for you. Eddies loves you so much and doesn't stop talking about you, Taylor and Hailey. Secretly I think he needs to come and see his girls.

There are still rules though Masie and you must follow them, these are special birthday rules and Eddie will only have enough magic for what im about to tell you.

  1. You may hold him 3times on August 10th for just 3 minutes a time
  2. Your sisters may hold him 2 times for 3 minutes a time
  3. He must leave the night of August 10th

So Miss Masie stay as sweet as you are, you will do fantastic in 2nd grade and your surgery will go perfectly. Be brave and keep smiling because your smile brightens up the world.

Love Santa xxxx

P.S Enjoy your Elf:)

Masie has wanted Eddie to come to her birthday ever since we adopted him, Santa has always told her no but let her down very gently, but she knew it was a long shot. So this year was no different apart from she said "I only have one wish for my birthday, I wish that Eddie could come and spend it with me". Santa was still thinking it just wasn't possible and thought long and hard for weeks, and watched Masie very carefully. Over the last few days she has had two more teeth pulled out which she suffered a lot of pain with but did what she needed to do and got it done. Then she went to her eye appointment and she has been scheduled to have eye surgery on her right eye to stop it being crossed. She was very scared and didn't want to go through with it, but again she knows its for the best and although it is scary she is doing what she has to do. So Santa has decided to grant her wish, and just hopes that he can put a big smile on that birthday girl.

School Sign Up

What a day, Yesterday I had to sign all three of my girls up for school. I was so nervous I was going to vomit, seriously, I had to drink Pepto Bismol and sit in front of a fan. I know it sounds strange but I do have anxiety problems like you wouldn't believe ( I do not like change). Anyway I got all the paper work and took it home, there was so much. We walked back and handed it in and I asked for Masie's Kindergarten teacher Mrs Tade for Taylor, but they cant guarantee it so we will see. We don't know much about the 2nd grade teachers so we are just leaving it to fate. Hailey will be going to Preschool that will help her with her speech, its 4 mornings a week from 8-11 she is doing so well though but I think she will benefit from it. Her teacher will be Ms Carr.

Chris- I would like it if you did something
Taylor- Hands out, attitude on her face "What!! I have already signed up for school!"

Our Weekend Away

This weekend we packed up and took our annual trip to Albuquerque, we got up early and drove the 3 1/2 hour journey . Video clip in the post below.

We first went to the Zoo and had a fabulous time, it was so much fun. We didn't get to do our normal activities like, giraffe feeding, camel rides or Lorikeet feeding due to different things that were going on at the Zoo. We were a little disappointed but it didn't matter because there were so much to do and see.We booked a fancy hotel, it had a pool, hot tub and even had a pond full of fish inside with a cute bridge. We were given free tickets for the water park as there was a wedding party in the pool, it was pretty fun but we were glad when the pool opened up. Masie was everywhere doing the monkey bars and all the slides, she had such a good time. She was swimming in the deep end and just l.o.v.e.d the Jacuzzi.Taylor really impressed me, she was glued to either Chris or myself while in the pool. She had a float swimsuit and armbands, we tried to explain and show her that she wasn't going to sink. Once she figured it out there was no stopping her, she was having a b.l.a.s.t, she was off and loving it. She enjoyed the Jacuzzi but she much preferred it in the pool.Hailey was funny, she was such an easy kid (did I just say that?) she just went along with everything, she too had a float swimsuit and loved not being held. She was so happy all weekend. We all wish we could have stayed longer, it was a lovely weekend.

Happy 3rd Birthday Hailey

***EDIT*** I just wanted to thank everyone who thought of Hailey on her special day. Having no family close to us is hard on birthday's but your cards, presents or just your birthday wishes makes it a little easier.

Hailey woke in the morning and was delighted to finally get her hands on her balloons. She didn't realise at first that all the presents were for her. The first one she grabbed happened to be the one and only thing she asked for, Spider Man action figure, as you can she she was very happy. We spread the presents throughout the day so she wouldn't get overwhelmed and had chance to enjoy everything. Peppa Pig toys that Auntie Maxine and Uncle Alexis and cousins sent from Ireland. We played pass the parcel, a common English party game, they had the best time and all got little treats.

Birthday donuts like Taylor, my girls are not really into cake that much, well apart from Masie.
Grandma and Papa put money in her card, Ive never seen a three year old get so excited over money, but Hailey knew exactly what it was and what you can do with it. Just look at that face.
The web cam is brilliant for keeping in touch with the people we love and are a little far away to pop in for a donut. Hailey got to spend time with Nanny and Grandad and then a little later Grandma. This little girl is very much loved.
Looking good Hailey!! If you look, she had 3 (4 if you count pj's) outfits on that day. This is typical for Hailey, she likes to look nice and changes her clothes often. How cute is this little sailor outfit from Uncle Rob, Auntie Sam and Maddie, looks great with a Peppa Pig backpack from Nanny and Grandad.
Apple Bee's for dinner, her birthday fell on a good day, it was kids night and blossom the clown was there. She asked for a birthday hat and a cute little mouse. She got a free desert and had it finished in minutes.

Happy Birthday sweet Hailey!!

All three of my girls love him like a brother, Taylor has a particular soft spot for this little munchkin.
Happy little boy!!

Almost Three

Can you believe it? Seriously, is my baby about to turn three? Tell me I'm dreaming, please!
What a wonderful little girl, I am so happy to be her Mummy. Hailey is perfect in every way, life would be so boring without her in our lives, you cant help but just love her. So I have one more day with my 2yr old and then here come the 3's, wish us luck:) Just joking, I cant wait to see what the 3's hold for my little princess.

New Beds

Last night the girls slept in their new beds, it was a fun day and they were excited to go to sleep. Hailey went to sleep in her very first big kid bed, she has the bottom bunk. Taylor was promoted to the top bunk, she was excited as you have to be a real big kid to get the top bunk. Taylor and Hailey are very close and love to be together, Masie on the other hand seems to have reached a stage where she likes her space. She loves her sisters very much and they play nicely most of the time, but she wanted her own room to have alone time. As we were one bed down now we went out and got this really cool loft bed, it even has draws in the stairs. We popped out to the movies to watch Despicable Me, which was a great movie and we ate candy, M&M's and popcorn for dinner. Then to finish off the night we went to the store and they picked out their new bedding, I think they did a great job choosing, their bedrooms look really lovely.

Thank You Grandma and Papa

Chris and I have to say a big thank you to Grandma and Papa!! Today marked an end of an era, the toddler bed is officially retired. Grandma and Papa bought this bed for Masie in 2005, she loved her big girl bed. Then it was past down to Taylor at the end of 2006. Finally Hailey got the bed the end of 2008, and tonight she spends her first night in a proper big kid bed.

Lego

The girls did really well with their Lego projects, Taylor had to share with Hailey because she insisted that she wanted a Teddy bear from Lego Land and not a Lego set. Hailey was very kind and shared hers and they worked together nicely. Masie did really well and followed the instructions to make this great master piece of the Krusty Crab and a Crabby Patty Car.

Video

I have to do this quick as my power is going to go because of a crazy storm, but I have been having a hell of a problem getting this video to you tonight. The previous post video wont work so hopefully this one will. Please enjoy (if you can), My little water babies:)

My Water Babies

I am really enjoying my girls, Peyton had his last day with us (for now, more to come on that) last week so starting this week I am working 3 days a week and not very long hours, until school starts again. I am taking full advantage as I have not worked part time since I started 4 years ago, last summer I worked 7 days a week from 5.30am until sometimes 7pm. I have been taking the girls swimming everyday this week and plan to continue, Masie is such a water baby and I have been teaching her to swim. When I first started she sank every time, she worked hard and practiced and practiced. Yesterday she got it and started swimming, I am so super proud of her. Hailey loves the water but was a clinger, now she is walking around the edges by herself and jumping off the side. Now my Taylor, she is just fantastic, on Monday she was still in the stage of holding onto my neck for her life, she was petrified of the water and got upset if it touched her face. Today we had a break through, a major one, I'm so proud of her. She allowed me to pull her around on the noodle and even let go, plus she enjoyed it. She was jumping off the side and telling me to back up a bit so she could jump further. She even dipped her face in the water, which still isn't her favourite thing to do but she did it. I'm so enjoying my girls, they are so fun to be around and I love teaching them and watching them grow and come out of their shells.

Smores in the Rain

Most normal people wait to eat yummy Smores when they go camping, or even when they have a nice family BBQ, not us!! We wait until the only day in New Mexico it rains so much that the streets flood, to us seeing that apparently means we crave smores. But they were delious, they almost taste as good done in the microwave. This is what our road looked like.
